Materialism Begins
Look Younger - Beauty & StyleHistory has witnessed that when civilization just started off, the earliest of men who existed around that time, prioritized convenience and comfort over appearance, gloss and the surface shininess. They listened to their needs than their wants. This was the approach that had ensured the proper equilibrium between man and the wild. It kept both parties equal benefactors in the whole process. Waste was never an issue back then as it never happened.
Yet, as time flew, there came a change in how the minds of man worked. They preferred to give more importance to the eye catchy and glossy things that objects that actually mattered. They prioritized the objects that satisfied their basic needs at the every last. Materialism became something of a commonplace and was becoming highly contagious. This can easily be proved by comparing the lifestyles and clothes of the people from the prehistoric times and the medieval ages. The royalty were famous for their heavy costumes and brocades and their even more wasteful parties.
This change approach led to a worsening of relations with the nature as humans became more and more greedy. Nature began to suffer as their natural cycles were unable to keep up with the increasingly extravagant demands of their human counterparts and slowly but surely the planet began descending in to an artificially created crisis.
The unnecessarily extravagant humans have yet to learn their lesson and this materialism is being inherited. Children grow up watching their parents waste everything, paper, power, water, food, etc. When they watch TV, they see celebrities doing the same thing, wearing unnecessarily flashy costumes and shiny leggings. This only leads them to become what their parents were; wasteful and materialistic citizens.
If this approach to nature goes on, the world as we know it may not be able to take it much longer. The current climatic and economic crises suggest that we may not be far off from a global meltdown. Will we be able to mend our ways in time?
